Meet Larry Teachey

We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry Teachey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larry, what do you attribute your success to?
As the manager of Nadeau Dallas, I’d say the most important factor behind our brand’s success is staying true to what makes us different – handcrafted, one-of-a-kind furniture that tells a story. Our customers aren’t just buying pieces, they’re bringing home character, global craftsmanship, and timeless design. Pair that with genuine customer service and a constantly rotating selection, and it’s a shopping experience you just can’t find anywhere else.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Working at Nadeau has been such a rewarding journey, both professionally and personally. What sets me apart is my passion for creating meaningful connections – not just between customers and our products, but also within the local community. At Nadeau Dallas, I’ve had the opportunity to help people find unique, handcrafted furniture that fits their space and their story. That’s what excites me most: curating a showroom that feels more like discovery than shopping.
Getting here wasn’t always easy. Retail is fast-paced, and managing a store means juggling a lot at once – inventory, team dynamics, customer needs, and local outreach. But I’ve learned to lean into the chaos and use it as fuel. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency in service and staying true to your brand values is what builds long-term success.
What I want the world to know about Nadeau is this: we’re more than a furniture store. We’re a space for creativity, for storytelling, and for finding something truly one-of-a-kind.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Dallas for the week, I’d make sure they experienced the perfect mix of local flavor, creative energy, and a few hidden gems. Here’s the dream itinerary:
Day 1 – Welcome to Dallas
Start with brunch at Bread Winners Café in Uptown—classic Dallas vibes and great people-watching. Then we’d take a stroll through Klyde Warren Park and check out the nearby Dallas Museum of Art for a dose of culture. Dinner at Tei-An in the Arts District—hands down one of the best spots for Japanese in the city.
Day 2 – Local Design + Retail Therapy
We’d kick off the morning with coffee at La La Land Kind Café, then head to Nadeau Dallas, of course! I’d show them around the showroom, let them explore all the unique pieces, and maybe even send them home with a statement find. Afterward, we’d stop by Forty Five Ten and The Conservatory for high-end fashion and home inspo. Dinner at HG Sply Co. on Lower Greenville for great vibes and rooftop views.
Day 3 – Arts + Instagram Moments
Morning starts in Deep Ellum, checking out murals, local boutiques, and grabbing tacos at Pepe’s & Mito’s. We’d hit up the Sweet Tooth Hotel for some immersive art fun, then cool off at Truck Yard with local brews and live music.
Day 4 – Outdoor Adventures
A relaxing morning walk at White Rock Lake, maybe even rent kayaks or bikes. Then a picnic lunch from Central Market, followed by an afternoon browsing NorthPark Center—a mall that doubles as an art museum. Evening drinks at Midnight Rambler in the Joule Hotel.
Day 5 – Day Trip Vibes
We’d road trip out to Bishop Arts District, explore all the indie shops, and grab lunch at Oddfellows. Pick up a few gifts at Dirt Flowers or The Wild Detectives, then catch golden hour at Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge with skyline views.
Day 6 – Culture + Cuisine
We’d check out The Sixth Floor Museum for a dose of history, followed by an afternoon at Nasher Sculpture Center. For dinner, it’s a must to try Pecan Lodge—Texas BBQ at its finest.
Day 7 – Chill and Reflect
Start slow with breakfast at The Village Bakery, then visit the Dallas Arboretum for a peaceful walk. Wrap up the trip with sunset cocktails at The Henry and late-night bites at Velvet Taco.
Dallas is full of creative energy, good food, and vibrant neighborhoods—there’s always something unexpected to discover.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I’d love to give a big shoutout to the Nadeau family and my incredible team here at Nadeau Dallas. Their passion, creativity, and commitment to our mission of “furniture with a soul” inspires me every day. I also want to recognize our loyal customers and local designers who continue to support us and share our pieces in their beautiful spaces. And lastly, a nod to the original vision of bringing handcrafted, globally sourced furniture to communities across the U.S. – that purpose keeps us grounded and growing.
