Meet Omar Qamar

We had the good fortune of connecting with Omar Qamar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Omar, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was never just about creating something for myself, it was about filling a gap I saw in the industry and building a platform that empowered others. Coming from a background in fashion, events, and media—including launching Fashion TV in the South Asian market, I was constantly observing how talent was underutilized and how cultural representation often lacked depth and authenticity.
I wanted to create something that brought people together, celebrated diverse creativity, and offered real value whether through fashion shows, curated experiences, or strategic brand collaborations. The thought process was driven by purpose, but also by practicality: I wanted control over the quality, the vision, and the narrative.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work has always lived at the intersection of fashion, media, and culture. I started by producing content that highlighted fashion, lifestyle, art, and entertainment telling stories that reflected both tradition and modern expression. That focus gradually evolved into larger platforms and productions aimed at elevating underrepresented voices and building stronger creative communities.
I’ve had the opportunity to launch Style 360 TV, South Asia’s first dedicated fashion and lifestyle channel, and to be part of the founding of Bridal Couture Week, which became a milestone in the regional fashion calendar. Later, I launched QManagement, a talent agency that supports both emerging and established professionals, and founded the International Fashion Festival Canada (IFFC)—a project that continues to bring together global creatives and industry leaders under one platform.
Through the years, I’ve produced shows and events in Pakistan, India, Dubai, Europe, the U.S., and Canada. Each experience taught me something new about people, about resilience, and about the power of cultural exchange. The journey has had its challenges, but what’s kept me grounded is the purpose behind it: creating opportunities, building bridges, and using fashion and media as tools for connection and storytelling.
If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my work, it’s that creativity is most powerful when it’s shared and that the most lasting impact comes from collaboration and authenticity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a close friend was visiting, I’d want them to experience the full spectrum of what life here offers—from downtown energy to lakeside calm, from cultural depth to pure fun.
Day 1: Toronto City Vibes
We’d kick off in the heart of downtown. A stroll through Nathan Phillips Square to soak in the energy (and yes, Toronto-style street hot dogs are non-negotiable). We’d spend a few hours at the Art Gallery of Ontario—whether it’s a major exhibition or just the permanent collection, it always inspires. In the evening, cocktails at Mister C Lounge, sophisticated, moody, and perfect to start the week with style.
Day 2: West-End Charm
We’d head west toward Oakville for brunch by the lake and an afternoon walk through Bronte Harbour, quiet, beautiful, and full of character. Later, a slow drive down Burlington’s Lakeshore, with maybe a sunset coffee or gelato stop. It’s a peaceful contrast to the city’s pace.
Day 3: Food + Culture Day
We’d spend the day in Mississauga and Brampton, diving into authentic South Asian food maybe biryani at Nirvana, grilled platters at Avani, or street-style chaats from local gems. It’s also a great time to visit cultural hubs or pop-up exhibitions, depending on what’s happening locally.
Day 4: Nature + Thrill
If they’re up for adventure, we’re off to Niagara Falls. Ziplining by the falls, taking the “Journey Behind the Falls”, or even the Hornblower boat tour, It never fails to impress, no matter how many times you’ve seen it. It’s nature at its most dramatic.
Day 5: Boat Day
We’d gather a few friends and take a boat ride from the Toronto harbour maybe even an evening cruise if we time it right. Music, good food, and the skyline lighting up behind us, it’s always a core memory. If we’re staying local, Bronte Boat Club is another great spot for that vibe.
Day 6: Art + Conversations
A slower day with some creative recharge, visiting galleries, a local fashion pop-up, or even hosting a small dinner with designers and creatives from the city. These nights turn into the kind of deep conversations and storytelling that make a trip unforgettable.
Day 7: Slow Down + Reflect
A walk by the water, maybe Port Credit, or even back to Burlington’s lakeshore. Brunch at a relaxed spot, a bit of souvenir hunting, and just taking it all in. Sometimes the best way to wrap up a week is to leave space for reflection and calm.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
No journey is ever achieved alone, and I’m deeply grateful to those who believed in my vision early on. One of the most pivotal names in my journey is Sultana Siddiqui, President of HUM TV Network. Her mentorship, leadership, and pioneering spirit in media deeply influenced how I approach content, creativity, and integrity in this industry.
Launching Style 360 TV, the first South Asian fashion and lifestyle channel was a defining chapter. It was made possible through the guidance of media veterans and a collective of bold, creative individuals who shared a common goal: to elevate South Asian fashion to a global stage.
I also credit the designers, models, and production teams who brought their talent and trust to every project I led. And most importantly, I thank my family for being my constant support system behind the scenes. This journey has always been about collaboration, shared values, and daring to do things differently together.
