We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynda Caldwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea of starting my own business came to me because, honestly, I never liked the thought of working for someone else. I’ve always been the type of person who wanted to be my own boss—making my own decisions, setting my own hours, and living by my own rules. And honestly, I absolutely love it and wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lashwell LLC was established in 2017, starting as a side hustle and eventually growing into a full-time, successful business. I truly believe consistency and perseverance are what brought me to where I am today. I’ve always prioritized exceptional customer service and high-quality work.

Was it easy? Absolutely not. The service industry can be incredibly challenging, especially because of its day-to-day financial unpredictability and inconsistent clientele. You never really know what to expect—but that’s where resilience comes in.

What I’m most proud of is how long I’ve been in business and the incredible clients who have been with me since the beginning. The relationships and friendships I’ve built with my clients are truly breathtaking and something I deeply cherish.

To any aspiring lash tech or business owner: know that it won’t always be easy—but if you stay committed and keep pushing forward, the rewards are absolutely worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go to Spa Castle for a relaxing massage and a soothing swim. Since I love brunch spots, I’d head to Blue Mesa Grill for their all-you-can-eat brunch, which includes two mimosas. For Sunday Funday, I’d stop by Lava Cantina to enjoy some live music and good vibes. To switch things up, maybe I’d catch a play at Theatre Three for something a little different. For late-night food, I’d hit up Fuel City or Ashim’s Hibachi Grill in Sundance Square—which stays open until 4 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
