We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Blends and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I don’t believe in giving up—I believe in pivoting, refining, and evolving. Every challenge I’ve faced has been a test of alignment. The question has never been, “Should I quit?” but rather, “Is this the right path for me?”

When I felt resistance, I learned to differentiate between two things:
✔ Resistance that signals misalignment – This means I’m forcing something that isn’t meant for me, and I need to shift.
✔ Resistance that signals growth – This means I’m stepping into something bigger, and the discomfort is part of the expansion.

I’ve had moments where I questioned everything—when nothing seemed to be working, when the path wasn’t clear, when I felt alone in the journey. But what kept me going was a deep inner knowing that I was building something greater than myself.

Whenever I doubted, I came back to three things:
🔥 My impact – The people I’m here to serve. The lives I know I can change.
🔥 My embodiment – Am I truly living what I teach?
🔥 My vision – I don’t chase success. I create alignment and let success meet me there.

So, I never “gave up.” I let go of what wasn’t meant for me. I released what didn’t serve my highest self. And I doubled down on what did. That’s how I knew when to keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My Art is More Than Beauty—It’s a Transformation.

My work is rooted in the idea that beauty isn’t just about appearance—it’s about presence, identity, and energy.

What sets me apart? I don’t just enhance features. I reveal essence. Whether through makeup, movement, or storytelling, my artistry is about unlocking a version of you that you’ve always felt but never fully stepped into. It’s a reflection, a permission slip, and an activation—all in one.

How I Got Here

I didn’t take the traditional route. My journey started in makeup artistry, photography, and brand storytelling, but it quickly became about something deeper. I saw that beauty wasn’t just about looking good—it was about being seen, owning space, and commanding presence.

For years, I worked with clients who wanted to look beautiful, but what they really needed was to feel powerful. I noticed that when women fully embodied their beauty—not just applied it but truly owned it—their entire energy shifted. That shift led me to explore embodiment, wealth energetics, and identity transformation.

I started to blend beauty with personal power, branding with confidence, and art with energetics. That’s when everything changed.

The Challenges

It was far from easy.
✔ I battled self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and fear of being truly seen.
✔ I played small for years—afraid of stepping into my full power, afraid of judgment.
✔ I had to unlearn everything society taught me about success, worth, and work.

But the biggest challenge? Breaking free from survival mode.

I had to shift from chasing validation and clients to owning my expertise and magnetizing my dream opportunities. I learned that true success isn’t about working harder—it’s about aligning deeper.

The Lessons I’ve Learned

🔥 Beauty is power. When you refine your presence, you don’t just look different—you attract different.
🔥 Wealth isn’t just about money—it’s an energy. You have to hold the frequency of success before it shows up.
🔥 You don’t “become” the person you want to be—you remove everything that’s blocking her.

What I Want the World to Know About My Brand & Story

💎 I don’t teach beauty—I teach high-value embodiment.
💎 I don’t sell makeup—I sell transformation.
💎 I don’t just help women look good—I help them step into a reality where they are SEEN, respected, and successful.

If you’re ready to refine your presence, elevate your energy, and step into the most magnetic version of yourself—you’re in the right place.

This is beauty beyond the surface. This is self-mastery through art.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, we’d definitely mix luxury with creativity and relaxation. My top three must-do’s would be:”

Makeup & Photoshoot Experience with My Canvas Portraits because when you look good, you feel good. We’d do a full beauty session, then capture the moment with a stunning photoshoot. That captures her personality and “good side” lol. Michael is the expert in posing and lighting to take all of the guesswork out.

Visit an Art Gallery – I love spaces that inspire creativity, so we’d spend an afternoon at a beautiful gallery, getting lost in the art, people-watching, and soaking in new ideas. Maybe even grab a glass of wine and talk about the pieces that speak to us.

Spa Day for Full Reset – No trip is complete without deep relaxation. A full spa day with a steam room, facial, and massage would be a must. It’s all about recharging and embodying luxury energy before heading back into the world.

Simple, elevated, and unforgettable—that’s my idea of a perfect trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All the love to Michael Evans of My Canvas Portraits. Without him, I wouldn’t be here—doing this, living this, becoming this version of myself. His unwavering support, his belief in my vision when I couldn’t quite see it myself… it changed everything. I’m forever grateful.

Michael doesn’t just photograph you—he sees you. He draws out the light you’ve forgotten you had, the power you didn’t know was showing, and the story your presence has always been telling. Every image is a mirror and a reminder: you are worthy, you are beautiful, you are becoming.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to step into your moment—this is it. Work with My Canvas Portraits and let yourself be captured in full color, in your truth, in your becoming.
