We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Brashun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrance, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I honestly just wanted to be able to work for myself. My goal is to be able to wake up every day and do what I want to do without having to worry about how I’m going to pay my bills. I want to have the choice of working today or just taking the day off and know that, financially, everything will still be taken care of

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I never try to cap what I can do with my business or designs. As a kid in high school, I wanted to have one of the biggest conglomerates on the East Coast. I think that can still be achieved but it will definitely take a lot of hard work and muscle to out perform some of the people who came before me. I’m most proud of my second short film, Ridge Run II: Familiar Places. It was selected to over a dozen film fest for just being my second film and to this day I am still getting asked to submit it into film fests across the world. Where I am now hasn’t been easy, it’s taken a lot of blood, swear and frustration to do things out of pocket without a big financial backing, but that is what makes me appreciate the work and success even more. There aren’t a lot of people who can say that they helped to get the brand to where it is now. It was just me, my best friends, and a few actors doing what we can to create visibility. I want the world to know the Classic Villain brand when its all said and done and I want people to know that you can achieve your version of success without giving into things that go against what you want your vision to be

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I’d start off with a hike at Cedar Ridge Preserve in Duncanville, which is where both of my films were shot. Its a good place to hike and exercise. Then we would go get brunch at Oddfellows in Bishop Arts because I like their food and the atmosphere. Then we might catch a movie at AMC in The Parks Mall because that’s one of my favorite theaters to go to. From there, we would head to Globe Life Field to catch a Rangers game because I love going to watch the Rangers play. While there, we would eat a Boomstick because thats one of my favorite things to eat that you can only get at the ballpark. Once the game is over, we might go downtown and walk around the AT&T Discovery District for a little entertainment. Then we could end the night grabbing pizza at Serious Pizza in Deep Ellum because those slices are as big as your head. That might be a Monday. Then Tuesday, we might check out BJ’s in Arlington for food and the Fort Worth Zoo for entertainment because I love that zoo. Wednesday would be The Dallas Museum of Art and Ten 50 BBQ in Richardson for food. Thursday would be another hike at Arbor Hills Preserve in Plano and Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Carrollton for food. Then Friday we could close it out with a RoughRiders game in Frisco, another movie at Cinepolis in Victory Park and a visit to The Sixth Floor Museum

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My best friends Maxx Calzz and Harold Smith II deserve all the credit and recognition in what Classic Villain is today. Without them giving feedback on my ideas, purchasing my clothing or candles and helping with photoshoots and films, I would not have kept going as long as I have been due to lack of motivation at times. For almost everything that I have done with the Classic Villain brand, they have had an input on the creative direction and evolution of branching out into different things. I would also like to give a shout out to Brian Begley for helping me with my shirt designs when I first got started. I would like to thank Western Son in Pilot Point, Texas for being the first company to offer any products to be used in my films. When I was doing my first short film, Ridge Run, they sent over 4 bottles of Vodka to be used in the film so I definitely recommend that you check out their alcohol products. And lastly, I would like to thank Luxury Lips, Oil and Lash (LLOL) for providing products to be used in my last film, Ridge Run II: Familiar Places. They were the ones responsible for the lipstick and lashes worn by Mary. If you liked how she looked in the film, ladies, please check out their products and tell them that Terrance Brashun sent you
