Meet Rosa De La Cruz | advocate for sharing Mexican culture

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosa De La Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosa, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Our business idea was driven by a deep love for our culture and a desire to share authentic Mexican products with people in our community. We carefully select and bring items directly from Mexico, ensuring that they reflect the rich traditions and craftsmanship of our heritage. From earrings and household items to aprons and other keepsakes, each product tells a story and carries the essence of Mexico. Our goal is to create a connection between people and culture through these authentic pieces, allowing them to experience and appreciate the beauty and tradition of Mexican artistry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
While I can’t quit my day job just yet, I’m still building this small business with the ultimate goal of opening our own store one day. Right now, that isn’t possible, but I’m committed to making it a reality in the future. In the meantime, I work at a law office as an insurance caseworker. I balance my career while growing my business step by step.
It hasn’t been easy—starting and sustaining a business takes hard work, patience, and resilience. There have been challenges along the way, from sourcing authentic products to balancing time between my job and my passion. But I’ve learned that persistence, faith, and the right support system make all the difference.
What sets us apart is our dedication to bringing a piece of Mexico to people here. We aren’t just selling products; we’re sharing culture, tradition, and a love for authentic craftsmanship. Our brand is built on heart, heritage, and a deep appreciation for the artisans behind each item.
I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the journey so far.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s nothing better than taking a trip to the Hill Country with friends. In my opinion, driving through the Hill Country is one of the best experiences Texas has to offer. I love exploring Marble Falls and Burnet, strolling through the charming boutiques and antique shops that make the area so unique. The scenic drives, with their breathtaking hilltop views and winding roads, are truly unforgettable.
If it’s summer, you’ll find me camping and swimming at Krause Springs, a hidden gem with crystal-clear water and lush surroundings. Longhorn Cavern State Park is another must-visit, offering fascinating underground caves to explore. And no trip to Burnet is complete without a dip in Devil’s Waterhole, a perfect spot to cool off.
Of course, a Hill Country adventure wouldn’t be complete without a stop in Fredericksburg to visit the wineries and enjoy the best of Texas wine country. Whether it’s the scenic drives, outdoor adventures, or small-town charm, the Hill Country is always an incredible escape!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give all glory to God, as He has guided me through this journey and blessed me with incredible opportunities. My family has been my foundation, always supporting and encouraging me every step of the way. I also want to give a special shoutout to my dear friend of nine years, Dorys Tijerina, who is not only my business partner but also my mentor. I’m truly grateful for her guidance and the strong partnership we’ve built together.
