Meet Cristina Rada Jimenez | Entrepreneur & Owner of Flowers by Cristyy

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Rada Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cristina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started Flowers by Cristyy because of a suggestion my boyfriend gave me. At sixteen, I was struggling to find a job, applying anywhere and everywhere, only to be rejected because of my age. It was frustrating watching my friends move forward while I felt stuck. That all changed when my boyfriend asked me to make a bouquet for his grandma’s birthday. I had so much fun picking out the flowers, arranging them, and putting my creativity into something so meaningful. When he saw the final result, he loved it and encouraged me to turn it into a business.
His suggestion sparked an idea, and with his and my family’s support, I started practicing by making bouquets. Before long, I launched Flowers by Cristyy on social media, turning what once felt like a setback into a blessing in disguise. What started as a simple request became my pride and joy. Without it, I wouldn’t have discovered my passion for floral design or my love for business, which ultimately led me to major in business management.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What makes Flowers by Cristyy unique is the creativity and love I pour into every bouquet. I always put my customers’ needs first, making sure each arrangement is crafted with care and attention to detail. Even with the demands of college and personal commitments, I stay dedicated to my business, carefully managing my time to ensure every order is ready on schedule. My goal is to create beautiful, meaningful bouquets that bring joy to my customers and their loved ones, no matter the occasion.
I am incredibly proud of the many accomplishments I’ve achieved through Flowers by Cristyy. What started with zero customers and no recognition has grown into a business with a loyal customer base. Over time, I’ve been blessed with consistent customers who order for all occasions and keep me busy during major holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. With their support, I now receive 20+ orders during these peak seasons. Social media has also played a huge role in my growth. Some of my arrangements have gone viral, gaining nearly half a million likes on TikTok. Pinterest being one of them too, It’s crazy to see my bouquets shared across the internet, sometimes even without my knowledge!
I’ve learned many lessons throughout my journey with Flowers by Cristyy. The biggest question is: has it been easy? The answer is no. While my business may seem picture-perfect, the reality is that I’ve faced countless challenges, from trial and error to moments of self-doubt and even tears. It hasn’t always been easy, whether it’s the stress of fulfilling a high volume of orders, dealing with difficult customers, or struggling with my self-worth. But through God’s grace, discipline, motivation, and the support of my community, I’ve pushed through. The most important lesson I’ve learned is to have grace and compassion for myself. There have been times when I put too much pressure on myself, leading to burnout. But by trusting in His plan and learning to be patient and kind to myself, I’ve found a renewed passion for my business and a healthier balance in my work.
I want people to know Flowers by Cristyy was built through determination and personal growth. What began as a simple idea became a blessing, turning a challenging time into a newfound passion. Through my story, I hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams, regardless of the fears and obstacles they may face!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area for the first time, I’d take them to San Martin Bakery and Restaurant for a nice meal to start the day. The nice and aesthetic atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to sit and catch up! After that, we’d go to the Dallas Farmers Market to walk around, check out all the fresh produce and handmade goods, and support small business pop-ups. Since they’re new to the area, I’d show them a behind-the-scenes look at Flowers by Cristyy but make it a fun hangout. I’d take them to my flower wholesaler, where we’d pick out a mix of flowers together, then head to a park for a picnic, using the flowers to make beautiful bouquets while also setting aside time for Bible study and enjoying the fresh air and good company. For dessert, we’d go to La Michoacana, a Mexican ice cream shop and paletería that has the best fruit popsicles, creamy nieves, and other sweet treats. To end the day, we’d have a chill at-home spa and movie night, relaxing with some skincare and a good movie!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God, my family, sister, and boyfriend deserve so much credit for all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into Flowers by Cristyy. They’ve been a huge part of the foundation of this business. I’m so thankful for the kindness, patience, and constant support my family and boyfriend show me. Whether it’s driving me all around town to find specific flowers or supplies or my dad picking up flowers from my vendor right after work, they’ve always been there for me. My faith has also made a huge impact, carrying me through both the tough and fruitful seasons of my business. Without God’s guidance, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m beyond grateful for His presence in my life and for the incredible blessing of having such a supportive family, boyfriend, and community.
