We had the good fortune of connecting with Nekima “REPOCHIC” Horton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nekima “REPOCHIC”, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be “She Did That!” She said she was going to start it, and she did, she said she was going to help, she did, she said she was going to build it, and she did! When people think about me and my legacy, I want them to remember I kept my word. My yes was yes and my no was a no. I want people to remember that I did things with integrity, class, and excellence. I want them to remember that I was a true REPOCHIC!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The Repo Chic show started off as a VLOG online. I had been a Consultant for about 10 years. At that time, I had an office downtown and I challenged my girlfriends to meet with me once a month to talk about our businesses. It was so good to meet and have a gathering of the minds to discuss what we needed, talk out our vision, build our strategic plan and just encourage each other. At the same time, I was a regular guest on other podcast. It got to a point where callers and my family, shout to my sister Brenda, who just demanded I get my own show. So i asked my girls to just meet me online and that’s how it started. It just took off from there…

It definitely has been a journey! Networks wanted to change the content. They said I needed drama because people want to be entertained not educated. We all disagreed! We also didn’t like how black women were represented on TV shows. We are bosses, entrepreneurs, wives, mothers, friends, and women of God. We are not throwing bottles, fighting in clubs, and cursing eachother out. Do we have drama, yes, but we handle it differently and that’s what we wanted to represent.

The Repo Chic Show on the Zondra TV Network exemplifies the critical role that entrepreneurial talk shows play in empowering business owners, particularly those selling products or services. This helps aspiring entrepreneurs understand the practicalities of starting and scaling a business. By building on this model, future programs can further expand the reach and impact of entrepreneurial education, creating a ripple effect of success across communities worldwide.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends come to town, I want good food and a fun environment where we can catch up! Of course, we go to Kitchen & Kocktails! You can never go wrong there. The food is flavored and they give you plenty of if. Yes, it is worth the coins. The environment is also a great mix of fun, professionalism, and class. On the weekend, Paparazzi Chophouse is a whole experience and has great food. At this stage, we are looking for a great lounge, where we can hear some great live music and sit back and relax. Dallas has some of the best musicians and artists and its always good when we get to hear them. We will finish the week at Potters House, my church. After a week of fun and catching up, we have filled our physical bodies and then we fill our spiritual bodies.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to all the REPOCHICS, REPOMEN, and Zondra Evans of Zondra TV Network! They entrusted me with so much. They allowed me into their space, their journey, their thoughts, let downs, and success. My show guest trusted me to tell their uncut raw stories for others to experience and learn from. Zondra trusted me and my vision and brought it to life as a part of her passion and vision to serve others with integrity and values. Shout out to being so dope, thank you!
