We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Blatter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
One thing that has always stuck with me is that fear is a liar. You can let yourself be afraid of all the things that could go wrong in your life, especially when starting a business, but the fact is that those awful things are not very likely to come true. Just like my fear of public speaking, I get terrible anxiety, I think people will laugh at me or I will pass out from embarrassment. 99% that’s not going to happen. What my fear plays in my head are often unrealistic scenarios. So just go for it! Don’t let your fear get in the way, be afraid and do it anyway.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So as a tattoo artist I always struggled with finding a place to work that I felt comfortable in. It was hard to find a place that broke that stigma of a 90’s tattoo parlor next to the liquor store and bar. You would most likely smell some sort of smoke wafting through the doors. I wanted a place that I felt secure and other people would feel confident bringing their children to. I wanted it to be an extension of myself. No drugs, no rave lights, no loud music. I had spoken to so many woman who were just downright intimidated to go into a tattoo shop. I didn’t want that for myself or my clients. I want to be welcoming and safe for woman who want to feel empowered when getting a tattoo. I also struggle with becoming easily overstimulated by lights and sounds, and I know im not alone. It’s becoming a new world out there and we are here to provide a new generation of tattoo shops.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am still fairly new to the DFW area. But I fell in love as soon as I saw it. So much opportunity! We absolutely love going to Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake during the summer. It’s like a tropical oasis right in town. I live in Azle so we always grab a bite to eat at the burger place in town called Reds Burger House. They use locally grown beef and make their own fries and pickles! My son loves the place that just opened here where he and his friends can battle with Nerf and gel blasters. It’s called Urban Assualt Battle Arena, and their is an indoor and outdoor space to run around.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout of course to my husband, Jason. He thinks I am some kind of superwoman and never once thinks I am incapable of doing something. He helps me brush off the dirt when I fall down. He makes me actually believe I can go through with my crazy ideas. Also to my business partners Jane and Remy Range, who have just as much an unwavering faith in my abilities to succeed in this venture.
