We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Cantu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The most outstanding thing about the beauty and cosmetics industry that most are unaware of until they personally experience it, is how empowering confidence is on people’s mental. The industry can be viewed as vain & superficial but that’s all just preconceived judgement from those who have never experienced self care through aesthetic procedures. We are growing living things, we require self care, our bodies need just as much help on the outside (our skin) as the largest organ in our body as they do on the inside. When individuals view themselves more positively they gain optimism and thus experience more personal growth. As women age, or go through life changes whether it be a new baby, divorce, death / loss. I hear so many stories and I am there to be the do “something nice” for them something they do to take care of their appearance. I think so many individuals feel they don’t deserve to have access to certain services, as if they’re meant only for a certain class of individuals. My ideal patient is actually quite the opposite, it’s the working mom, the entrepreneur, the bedside nurse working an extra shift to pay for their services. I love when my patient says “thank you for making me feel beautiful” and I get to remind them how the beauty was always there. I make it a goal to comment on a feature of each patient so they feel seen & natural beauty is appreciated.

What should our readers know about your business?
In 2023, I realized the true gap in knowledge base of the average nurse working in the aesthetic industry. Local schools were pumping out over 100 “certified” injectors who completed 2 day courses. When we would hire or I encountered newbies in the industry there was a true lack of education, which is inexcusable. The industry lacked aesthetic injectors who viewed themselves as clinicians. I started Njector Trainer initially as a platform for healthcare professionals only, to have access to a directly of healthcare educators who were dedicated to passing along knowledge needed to grow and be a well rounded clinician in this industry. I found many requests came from novice aesthetic providers who had already opened their own practices and were lost in specializing their experience or building clientele. The 1:1 trainings I offer are in a private setting, with vetted models who are prime candidates for specific procedures. I wanted to function as more than a resource but a mentor to the healthcare professionals who choose to practice aesthetic medicine. It has not been easy going “against” large corporations pumping out 100’s of trainee’s who walk away with little safe practice and knowledge. I’ve learned instead of “fighting back” or speaking my mind on social media (which I did and was retaliated against by a cease and desist) I just continue forward and focus on the mission of Njector Trainer which is to empower medical professionals through personalized training experiences.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am huge on showing off the beauty Dallas as a city has to offer. I would start off at the Dallas Arboretum to take advantage of the beautiful art and breathtaking gardens. For lunch, I would head over to Eataly Dallas La Pizza and La Pasta to enjoy a plate of cacio e pepe & a glass (or 2) of Tuscan Chianti. Of course we would not leave without a gelato or a fruit tart. That evening I would head over to a night at Att Discovery center to enjoy the digital art & walk over to The Wicked Butcher for a dry aged steak.

The following day it only makes sense to enjoy a little taste of country, put on our boots and head to Fort Worth. I would start with BBQ on Magnolia Street at Heims then walk it off at the Ft. Worth stockyards. We could finish off the evening at Koe Wetzels Riot Room.

Sunday would be saved for relaxation at the Joule’s signature spa body ritual treatment.
