Hi Katherine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting ZELIA LABEL was driven by a combination of personal passion and market opportunity. I’ve always had a strong interest in fitness, but I struggled to find activewear that not only fit my style but also represented my heritage and values. I noticed there was a gap in the market for a brand that blends quality, functionality, and cultural pride, and that’s when I knew I wanted to create something different.

What should our readers know about your business?
ZELIA LABEL is an activewear brand rooted in empowerment, and authenticity. What sets us apart is our commitment to helping women feel strong, confident, and connected to their identity. I’m proud of the brand’s ability to resonate with women who value both functionality and style.

I’m incredibly proud of how far ZELIA LABEL has come, and one of the things I’m most excited about is the way the brand resonates with women who value both functionality and cultural representation. It’s not just about the clothes it’s about creating something that people feel proud to wear. That sense of purpose keeps me motivated every day.

The journey hasn’t been easy, though. Starting a business, especially as a solo entrepreneur, has come with a lot of challenges. From managing marketing to logistics and customer service. It was overwhelming at times, but I found strength in persistence and the support from my family, especially my husband, mom, grandma, and brother, who have always been my biggest cheerleaders. I’ve also leaned heavily on trial and error and learning from each mistake. Every obstacle was an opportunity to grow, and those lessons have shaped the way I run my business today.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned are to stay true to my vision, be patient with the process, and never be afraid to ask for help when needed. I’ve realized that entrepreneurship is about adapting, evolving, and being willing to take risks, but also knowing when to listen to your instincts.

What I want people to know about ZELIA LABEL is that it’s a brand built on hard work, passion, and a dedication to making women feel their best. I’m excited about what’s next for us. My hope is that through ZELIA LABEL, I can inspire others to pursue their dreams, embrace their identity, and never give up, no matter the challenges.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were in town, I’d definitely start the day with breakfast at Maria’s Mexican Kitchen in Fort Worth for their delicious chilaquiles such a perfect way to kick off the day!

For lunch, we’d head over to Heim BBQ to savor some of the best barbecue in town. Those brisket is incredible! After that, we could spend some time exploring the Japanese Garden in downtown Fort Worth , which is such a peaceful and beautiful spot. It’s perfect for a stroll and soak in some sun. You can also feed the 100’s of koi fish in their pond.

I’d also love to take them to the Stockyards Museum to dive into the rich history of Fort Worth. It really captures the essence of Texas, and of course, I wouldn’t want to forget to wear my favorite cowboy boots!

To wrap up the day, we’d enjoy dinner at Hatsuyuki Handroll for some fresh sushi. There’s nothing like ending a fun day with delicious handrolls and great conversation. It’s the best mix of flavors and experiences that Fort Worth has to offer!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For my shoutout, I want to recognize my husband, whose unwavering support and belief in my vision have been a huge part of my entrepreneurial journey. From brainstorming ideas for ZELIA LABEL to navigating challenges, he’s been there every step of the way.

I also want to dedicate this shoutout to my mom and grandma, whose strength and resilience have shaped who I am today. They taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, and their love and wisdom continue to guide me. My brother has also been a constant source of encouragement, always pushing me to aim higher and reminding me of what’s possible.
