Meet Cynthia Bataillard | Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Bataillard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I love to be creative and make someone else’s vision of a perfect party come to life. It is very special to me to use my creativity to add details that make our soft play personal to each family we serve.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business venture began as way for me to help support my family as I transitioned from a being a high school librarian to a homemaker. At the time, I worked full-time for Garland ISD and as much as I loved my role, I knew I needed and wanted to be at home with my daughter. The decision to step away from a 10 year career in education and start a small business was not easy to say the least but it has brought a lot of joy into my life. It has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and take risks I never imagined for myself. It has also given me the opportunity to learn new skills and be creative, which is one of my favorite aspect of the job.
I’m most proud of being able to grow my business while balancing my role as wife and mother to two toddlers. I feel that because I am a mom of toddlers, I can truly connect with each family that chooses us to be part of their event. I love helping them celebrate the most important people in their lives – their children. When a family reserves our soft play, I know that we’re responsible for a big part of their event. I know that their youngest guests will be entertained in a safe way and I’m honored to be part of their special day.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is to be patient and know that what is for us as a business will come to fruition in good time. I think that in the age of social media, it is very hard to not compare ourselves and where we as individuals, parents, and/or entrepreneurs, and it can be difficult to think positively about our own success. I try to remind myself that social media is a highlight reel and there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes than what people publish. I try my best to focus on what I can control and what is most beneficial for my business without comparing it to others’.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to visit in Dallas is the Bishop Arts District. There are several restaurants that serve great food and the scene never disappoints. I love browsing book stores and listening to live music so it hits all of the ways I like to be entertained.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my husband for always believing in my vision for this business and for giving up his free time to assist me whenever I need it. He is always there to support, encourage, and guide me when I need it the most.
