We had the good fortune of connecting with ZOE NOELLE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ZOE, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was raised in a highly artistic/musical environment. So naturally, the gifting was pulled out of me from a young age. I always knew I wanted to pursue music in one way or another, but I wasn’t sure how until recently. I have been writing and playing the piano for about 10 years and was always content with keeping my creativity behind closed doors. It wasn’t until I got connected with my current creative community that I realized the real impact I could make. As I matured in my artistry and understanding of the industry, my desire to get involved only increased. Growing up, I watched person after person, rise to fame which eventually led to their destruction. Depression, drug abuse, perversion and burn out; all taken on by people who were once just like me – a creative with a dream. Although, my dream is not necessarily fame or a world tour. I am pursuing a career as a creative because as a Gen-Z artist, I believe know what this generation desires; authenticity and hope. I write and release my music with a mission to relate one another on a deeper level of reality. Music carries great influence on our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Knowing this, I am determined to share the hope I’ve found and the beauty that has followed.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I spent a lot of time trying to decide which genre I should pursue until finally, I allowed myself the freedom to do it all! I tend to be most comfortable writing within the pop and singer/songwriter genre, although I have quite a bit of alternative and country influence in my writing style. I am 22 and just beginning my journey as a recording artist. One thing that sets me apart is my self awareness – knowing exactly what purpose I carry in my creativity. Many artists will create based on what’s trending or what will get them into the venue of their dreams. I am here to release a specific sound and message, regardless of the outcome. I never want to lose the authenticity of my music or the joy in the production process. In the midst of the process, I am discovering just how important it is to find partnerships (producers, featuring artists, etc.) that carry the same heart and vision as I do for what we produce. My patience was tested in the waiting as I wouldn’t settle in the partnerships I chose. Soon enough, I met the right people and projects began to sour. I have learned that when working with like-minded creatives, I leave more passionate about my music and excited for what’s to come. When people listen to my music, I want them to feel seen and heard, while also challenged and hopeful for the future. Just in my 22 years of life, I have experienced many highs and many hard lows. I have experienced the most joy and satisfaction in seasons, while also knowing deep hurt, pain and confusion in others. I believe music can be a healthy way to take one another on the many beautiful journeys of life. I consider it an honor sharing these stories through my writing and I hope those listening capture the hope and purpose I have come to know.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This may be typical, but the stockyards never dissapoint. If a friend was visiting, we would start there for some western inspiration and Avoca coffee. Throughout the week we may come back again for some entertainment and dinner at 97 West. We wouldn’t miss Mercy Culture Church on a sunday morning, whereas after, we would visit the beautiful downtown area and walk sundance square. We would spend some time in dallas, walking around bishop arts and deep ellum where some of the best ramen restaurants are found. The Dallas Aquarium would definitely be on the bucket list as well as a rooftop movie at the Rooftop Cinema. I would definitely want to take a friend to clearfork for yummy food and drink at Press Cafe along the Trinity River. Dessert is right around the corner at Amorino Gelato surrounded by fun shops and music in the clearfork shopping center! I love some good food and live music, so I would be on the lookout for upcoming concerts at billybobs or smaller venues around town.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family for always supporting me in my love for the arts. Whether it be voice lessons, piano lessons, new equipment or supporting me at performances and gigs, they have always been present, cheering me on!
Shoutout to AXL Creative Co. for investing into my personal growth as a creative and introducing me to such a healthy, thriving creative community. Without AXL and their leadership, I would not be the artist I am today!
