We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Stone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I would like to be remembered for how I served people. My motto in life is: “leave people better than you find them.” I hope to make a positive impact on the people I serve while I have the capability to do what I love everyday.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My industry is not easy… it is very tedious and it involves a lot of patience. You have to be able to listen to every client and bring to life their vision. You also have to be surrounded by a solid team and crew that help deliver and complete each project on time. Most of the time we are working in families homes or business in the midst of their everyday life and so you can only imagine the pressure on me to complete every project in the cleanest, most organized and productive manner. I would say the most valuable thing my career has taught me is my ability to listen better and be able to understand how my clients think and my ability to meet another person where they are in life. This has been very valuable in my personal life as well because now I am more open minded and knowledgeable to things I would have never been privy to.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you know me… I’m a foodie but like to keep my lifestyle healthy so I would take my bestie to Ocean Prime, Bobs or Flemings. I love the seafood options. Also for a fun experience I like to go to Gloria’s on the harbor and sit on the patio by the water and enjoy some girl talk or just to get a breath of fresh air and slow down a little and catch up… when we’re not eating I love to workout or hike so we’d hit some trails by the lake for sure… after all working out is more fun with your bestie! My hobby is definitely shopping and not just for tile or flooring lol … so we would definitely hit some of my fave stores and the mall and also I like to check out antique stores and fresh produce stands!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If it were not for me meeting my husband in 2018 I would never have even thought about a real future in construction. When we met in 2018 I was self employed and owned a commercial cleaning business in South Carolina. So I am grateful that I have the opportunity to truly do what I love.
