Meet George “Vorieo” James: Owner of Vorieo Cigars

We had the good fortune of connecting with George “Vorieo” James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi George “Vorieo”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The main reason behind starting my own business was to build Long-Term Generational Wealth for my family.

What should our readers know about your business?
In the year of 2014, I started Vorieo Cigars in Nashville, TN. I spent countless nights in my office drawing my vision on paper and whiteboards. Finally, I decided to stop talking and invest in myself. I financed my company one hundred percent from my personal savings. Today, I have sixteen years of tobacco experience. Our mission here at Vorieo Cigars is to provide cigar lounges, tobacco outlets, and consumers around the world with an innovative premium cigar experience. To accomplish our mission, I decided to only focus on four cigar wrappers, sizes, and brands. This added value, because now my consumers who are a novice and or a connoisseur will have a precise selection. My cigar wrappers are the following: Habano, Connecticut, Double (Connecticut and Habano), and Maduro Wrappers. My cigar sizes are the following: Double Corona: 7.5 x 55; Torpedo: 6 x 52; Toro: 6 x 50; Robusto: 5 x 50 My cigar brands are the following: The Duck & The Sun; IKVI:XXIX Platinum (1Kings 6:29); Junkanoo; IKVI:XXIX Gold (1Kings 6:29). Vorieo Cigars are available in a variety box of four and box of ten. What differentiate my cigars from others is my aged tobacco, authenticity, details on my cigar bands, product quality control, and experienced cigar rollers. My cigars are tested to measure diameter, length, and draw, only to supply a consistent and quantified experience. Vorieo Cigars tobacco fillers, binders, and wrappers are grown on established tobacco farms. Each tobacco leaf is cured after harvesting and before consumer consumption in the Dominican Republic. Vorieo Cigars are aged and blended with different fillers full of complex flavors from Criollo 98 and Pilot Havana in the Dominican Republic. Each binder is Olor Dominicana and finished with wrappers from the Dominican, Ecuador, and Indonesia. Investing in myself got me to where I am today. It is not an easy experience operating in compliance with the government, paying taxes, managing people, logistics, marketing, and inventory. It can become overwhelming at times. You have to become a problem solver and know how to win friends and influence people. That is my solution to any challenge and or obstacle. The lessons I learned along the way is to take care of the front end of your business, hire the right professionals, own your intellectual property, know your industry, and stay away from negative people. I want the world to know that one day Vorieo Cigars will own ninety percent of the cigar industry market share.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting me for a week, on the first day we will have to grill in my backyard and smoke some premium Vorieo Cigars. The second and third day we will visit different cigar lounges and smoke some premium Vorieo Cigars. The fourth day we will go fishing and smoke some premium Vorieo Cigars. The fifth day we will bar hop around Legacy West and on the sixth day we will rest.
