We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Ansuini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand has a soul.. In boutique fitness it is really hard to stand out in a crowd, we all can look fabulous, have the coolest equipment, hire the most beautiful coaches etc but if the brand doesn’t have a soul or purpose and is just following a script it is not going to last. Knowing how hard it is get the people who are looking for your brand and then actually walk in your doors, it can be devastating to have them walk away for something else. I want my clients to not just look & feel good when they are here but know that they are important to us, we want them to succeed with their goals and cannot wait to see them again tomorrow. And that, soul, I believe, is what has led to our success so far.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am currently 8 months into entrepreneurship, running The Good Place LV which is an athletic reformer pilates studio & boutique. It’s been a crazy wild ride but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I think what sets me apart is that I worked with many small businesses over my career and had pretty high standards and amazing examples set for me. I always wanted to create a “feel good” experience in a business with freedom to pivot and adjust as needed. I wanted to create a space can make people feel good not just sell them a product or item they may or may not need. I wanted the clients and the team to feel like they are a part of something “special” whenever they are here. What’s been hard is just not knowing what you don’t know but the best part of doing it on my own is that I can be nimble and make a change instantly and see what happens, adjust again. Everything is a big experiment, especially the marketing side of it. It’s an amazing journey, not for everyone but if you are up for it I say jump!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well Vegas is a city of unlimited possibilities but as a local I have a few fun tips, especially if you are plant based (like me). I always favor the local joints like Green Valley Ranch or the M resort for a staycation, the cabanas are the best way to enjoy the pool. In Henderson there is an amazing vegan taco joint (out of this world) Tacotarian. And then I’d do a comedy show one night on the strip (take your pick of casinos) and dinner must be at Crossroads at Resorts World. It’s not only the best vegan food but some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. Another meal is at Saffron in Chinatown & then and in old Vegas we’d have to eat at Esthers (not vegan but the sourdough bread is worth the trip alone). Some cool hikes out at Red Rock or any outskirt of the city are easy to find. Lastly I’d throw in a few classes at The Good Place LV, our Sunday Stretch is an incredible way to end your week!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Some of my past bosses- Ive been lucky to have worked for small businesses and saw them hustle, saw the bad days, saw them celebrate wins & saw them absolutely love what they do every single day. Shoutout to Melinda & Jake of Lunatic Fringe (circa 2007), Nathan, Riley & Bryan at CCI.
