We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Woodard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremiah, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I have 2 older brothers and amazing parents who have raised me to become the man I am today. Growing up, I’ve always idolized a lot of people, such as rappers, artists and political figures. But, the two people I idolize the most are Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dr. Ralph Johnson Bunche. Both of their stories are very inspirational and the things that they’ve accomplished are astronomical. Also growing up, My parents are the two people I idolize. My dad is someone I really look up to, he is one of the smartest and wisest men I know. He has taught me so many things in life and has given me nothing but good advice, and even though we may not agree on a lot of things, I can honestly say that man is someone I always strive to be and someone I love very deeply. My mom, I love that woman with all of my heart, she has always made sure that I did my best in anything that I did. She has also given me great advice and taught me a lot. Without them, I wouldn’t be the man I am today.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I think sets me apart from others is my approach when it comes to shooting, I love trying different angles and trying different things. It’s what makes shooting a lot more fun. I’ve learned a lot when it comes to photography. People will take notice of your photography, just keep doing your thing. I want people to know that I want to be more than just a photographer, I want people to look at me as an inspiration for many kids who enjoy art.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to Downtown Fort Worth. There is so much history in that area and I think it would be pretty cool. I also like going to museums, I always look at them as how far we’ve come as a country. I’m a pretty big gamer too, so definitely an arcade.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to my friends and family. They’ve been nothing but supportive over the years and I am very appreciative of them.
