We had the good fortune of connecting with Vallissa Branscomb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vallissa, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I saw an advertisement on facebook of a shoe a lady had created that was beautiful. I looked at the shoes and realized that I wanted to put patterns that I saw my mother wear. I also wanted to have a matching hand bag or dress to match it as if I were shopping for real items.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Like every Artist, I started off just doing pieces for family and friends. I kept practicing to make my chocolate art look more realistic and flawless. It was very challenging finding the right supplies and making sure everything was edible and tasted good with chocolate. I reached out to a company who made edible paper and was looking for people that used their products. They loved my work and I became a live instructor. I constantly practice to improve my skills. I learned to stay humble and let God lead they way to endless opportunities.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a bit of fun and relaxation, I like to go to a good spa around town and have lunch on the rooftop at a number of locations in downtown Dallas. Coffee Man Said It, has the best coffee and lemonades around Dallas and surrounding areas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my father. He has been a big inspiration in keeping me grounded and encouraging me to not give up and continue to push through anything.
