We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shannon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was combining my passion, along with serving others! I knew I loved photography, I love watching insecurities melt away during my photo sessions, and I love helping others. Brand imagery and storytelling in my book is just as important as the business plan. I’m a mother, a wife, and a friend, I understand that content is necessary and it’s also time-consuming. I like to think that I’m helping my clients get their time back and delegating it back to the reasons we all started businesses in the first place. My thought process was freedom!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets Posche Visuals apart from others is our love for the craft. We truly are set and excited on the growth of the client. We want you to soar after working with us. We take the time to give our clients tips that will take them to the next level, especially if content creation & social media is where they struggle. I’m most proud of how we were able to grow our company through good content and word of mouth. Of course, we marketed a bit but the majority of our clients were either referrals or saw someone else’s session and saw the value, that’s priceless! We got where we are today through word of mouth and working hard at perfecting our craft. We’re constantly learning so that we can help others. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to make time for yourself especially creatives. We love what we do but too much of anything can burn you out! Don’t be afraid to set realistic timelines and deadlines, you would rather be known for taking a bit of time vs not showing up in the time you quoted. Give yourself Grace. I want the world to know that my brand is built on love and hard work. I am a mother of 4 and a wife. When I started my business I was a mom of 2, my brand has gone through many changes and the biggest change is currently in the works. We want to work with influencers and businesses that want to get into influencer marketing so stay tuned
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would eat at my top restaurants
– Rouj Creole the aesthetics and food is amazing and close to Perkins Rowe
-Bistro Byronz super cute outside seating with perfectly seasoned southern dishes.
-Mid City Beer Garden because it’s a vibe
– 18 steak because the steak is superb, it’s inside Lauberge casino
We would hang out at Electric Depot, rejuvenate ourselves at Massage Emporium and shop in Perkins Rowe where the cutest boutiques reside.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to first shout out to God for giving me vision and purpose. My wonderful husband for always having my back and being my number one support! I have to shout out to my kids, through their eyes I’m able to see the hero they see in me and the unconditional love they have for me just because I’m ME. I’d like to thank 4thflr, Ross & Victoria Armstrong for taking me in as family and mentoring me. Thank you both for putting me in rooms and giving to me with no holdbacks. Aishia Cobb for speaking my name in rooms I’ve never been in and seeing my star. My new family Hairslangaz let’s go to the top!
