We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Bradford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to be my own boss and I wanted to be a more meaningful part of society by creating special occasion desserts and memories for family’s and events through food.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I do custom cakes and desserts for a variety of occasions. I also teach cooking classes and do private dinners and events!
I have always done things like this on the side while I was a chef in restaurants but after I had my daughter everything changed and I wanted to leave a legacy for her and be able to spend more time with her while building my dream!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely go on a food tour around DFW! Checking out local coffee shops, the trending food spots as well as the small businesses and hidden gems!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tara Johnson will always be my number one! I firmly believe without her mentorship I would not be where I am today!
