Meet Chloe Beaugard: Owner of Shady Baby Co

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Beaugard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chloe, what’s your definition for success?
My younger self would have defined success as having expensive things and a six-figure plus income. As I’ve grown older and hopefully wiser, my definition of success has changed. Now, I believe that success is not defined or measured by materials or money. For me, a successful individual is one who freely and unapologetically lives out his or her calling. A successful individual is someone who passionately does what he or she loves no matter how much money they do or do not generate from it. With all of society’s standards and sometimes pressure from family, it’s so inspiring to see people do what fulfills them even if it goes against those standards.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
One thing that sets Shady Baby Co apart from other brands is customer service. I strongly believe that every customer and potential customer should have a quality experience. Someone choosing to spend their hard earned money with Shady Baby Co deserves nothing less. Business wise, no matter how great a product is, if customers are treated poorly, they will not continue to shop. In addition, they will tell others about their experience. I credit being approachable and having true appreciation to one of the reasons why my brand is growing, Seriously, I believe that how you treat customers is 80% of a successful business. Now other 20%… I think one of the most challenging aspects of running a business is keeping up with the ever changing technology, marketing trends, fashion trends, etc. It is easy to get distracted and lazy when it comes to learning new things that will benefit your business. One thing that keeps me going is knowing how far I have come. and why I started. I often look at photos of my first pop up shop. I had no idea what to expect, and my set up was pretty pitiful. In addition, no one had any idea of what a Shady Baby Co was. As Shady Baby Co continues to grow, I strive to continue to offer a quality experience. My glasses are budget friendly, but I never want my customers to have a cheap experience.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow, the pressure! There are so many fun things to do in DFW. Here are a few places we would visit. I love food. Most of the places listed are restaurants hahaha Monday – Dinner at The Ranch. A little weird, but I am obsessed with their mashed potatoes. They also have a great happy hour! Tuesday aka Taco Tuesday- Dos Tacos in Irving, Texas has the best street tacos I have ever tasted. Yes, they are better than Fuel City’s tacos. Wednesday – Dinner at Ida Claire. The food is delicious! Thursday aka Thirsty Thursday – Of course we would have to go to happy hour at Bar Louie or OT Tavern Friday – I love Longshots in Uptown on a Friday night. It’s usually not too crowded and La Gourmet Pizza is right next door! Saturday – Yoga + Food Trucks in Klyde Warren park! Later, we can bar hop in Deep Ellum. Sunday – Dallas Farmers Market and scooter riding through Downtown!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a major shoutout to my youngest sister, Olivia, While she is only 8 years old, she pushes me to keep working on Shady Baby Co. She’s incredibly smart and creative, and I am amazed at the endless ideas she presents. Also, she is my number one cheerleader! Next, I would like to shoutout a few of individuals who have really helped to expose my brand. First, shoutout to Vibes Texas! It is a monthly event presented by @romiirae (instagram), and it’s so much fun. As a regular vendor at this event, I have gained exposure and connected with other business owners as well as creatives. If you haven’t attended a Vibes Texas event, you are missing out! Check out @vibestexas on instagram! Second, major shoutout to a creative director/model/anything else Sydney (@sydney_escada) and the bomb stylist Mareka (@m.inahsa). Both ladies have connected me with models, photographers, and some overall quality individuals. They are always including Shady Baby Co in their campaigns. One campaign even landed Shady Baby Co a feature in Lucy Magazine. I so appreciate them both!
