We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Hukill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
When it came to becoming a part of the jewelry industry, I was excited to focus on the aesthetics, marketing, and the creative process. My husband (and business partner) quickly reminded me that due to the nature of our business, being permanent jewelry, we would have to sort out liability and insurance. That was quite an ordeal, but a necessity in this emerging industry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a business owner, I promised myself I would never sell an experience or product that I would not purchase myself. This is the model we use in decision-making.

Our goal is to provide an experience that produces a one of a kind piece. Each client is able to create an original piece or select one of our premade pieces.
Clients can be as involved in the creative process as they choose to be. This is vastly different than most retail that can be done quickly or online.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
DFW has so many things to offer, depending on the person I have a variety of places I would take a visitor. Mostly involving places to eat!

The majority of the trip would be in Fort Worth, which my family and I call home.
We would start the trip at Ampersand coffee and walk around the beautiful TCU campus. For lunch, we’d make our way to the university village for outdoor shopping and dining at Flower Child.

Somewhere along the way, we would stop in our neighborhood of Fairmount. We love walking along magnolia and looking at historic homes. For dinner, we love Ellerbe Fine Foods or Lily’s Bistro.

The following day would be a tour of the museums, my favorite being The Modern (which happens to have a spectacular restaurant). Then burning off those calories riding bikes along the Trinity trails.

And every trip to Fort Worth has to include a trip to the Stockyards and a Tim Love restaurant! Fleastyle is my favorite boutique in the stockyards and dinner at Paloma Suerta.

A few other activities might include Courtside Kitchen for a game of pickleball, shopping at clearfork, a walk through the famous botanical gardens, or the Fort Worth zoo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, partner and teammate, Bailey. It’s always been our dream to own a business, it’s been amazing to make it a reality.
