We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Hutchison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasha, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
I have many small goals to reach a big goal. For now, my focus is a limited series or movie based on my novel Broken Petals. By the end of my career, I plan to see myself moving beyond books to scripts to create limited series and episodes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an author, and I am most proud of my recent publication, Broken Petals. I learned about Huntington’s disease while reading an article and I felt compelled to create a character and explore what life looks like living with this disease. How would the character approach relationships, friendships, career, and more. The book’s main theme is about hope. I myself learned a lot from going on this journey with my character about overcoming obstacles, mentally and physically. After reading this book, I hope my readers will continue to go on a journey with me. If my name is attached to a book, limited series, or movie, they will know they’re going on a journey of transformation.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I recently published my book Broken Petals, so I would love to shout it out and invite everyone to purchase it. Broken Petals is a women’s fiction book that explores the complexity of friendship, love, legacy, and death as a young woman with Huntington’s disease ventures on a journey of self-discovery.
