We had the good fortune of connecting with Saba Habiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saba, what principle do you value most?
Courage and growth are the main principles to me. Courage is about doing what you believe needs to be done; not in the absence of fear but in spite of it. Courage requires you to step outside of your comfort zone. If you have no fear, you don’t need courage, but when something you know you have to do makes you feel sick inside, courage is what makes you do that thing anyway. I think courage is certainly required in this life. Growth is one of my core values. I know that growth isn’t a destination but a process. I want to enjoy that process and help others to enjoy their own. Growth is an important part of a person’s maturity and success. The beauty of growth is that the possibilities are endless; you can learn as much as you want. And as you continue to grow, you will be embarking on an extraordinary and meaningful path in life.
We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others. How did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
Whew! I think my sense of humor, determination, and working smarter instead of harder set me a part from others. Believing in myself is my magic. Not everyone is going to understand you. Success begins through believing in what you can do. Don’t let other people discourage you in your path toward success. If you have ever made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. We are all quite capable of spectacular mistakes and some of us, myself included, have made them. The key is not to allow defeat and failure to be the end-all. I always continue forward. There wouldn’t be any winning without a challenge. I look at each challenge individually, decide which problems I can’t change, and identify the ones I can. Sometimes I need to ask for help. I get help and support from family, friends, counseling, books, and online sources. I can finally take a rest after I tackle any challenge. Afterwards, I can do something that helps me feel good and have some fun. This process helps me better handle the next challenge. It’s a costly path, but well rewarding and well worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many great places in the Dallas – Fort Worth area to explore. I would definitely have Bishop Arts District on the list of places to go. The Holocaust Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Six Flags, and The Turtle Creek Park are my favorite places. I would also recommend a tour through Deep Ellum and Legacy West. My favorite place to eat is Rustic.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, goodness! There are so many people that deserve a shoutout. There is no way I can name them all. Just so much love and gratitude for everyone who has been part of my journey.
